Emotions
Though this moment I feel Alone,
The pain you caused will heal on its own
Through these days you’ll see what’s true
How much your pain is hiding from you.
I’ve done my best, and yet you want more
I am not whole, but the emotions you ask to ignore
For what is expected, this just isn’t fair
Your escape from reality is hard to just bare
I saw life in your eyes for which you returned
We built a whole life, which temptation then burned
It’s hard to let go, and let one just walk
You took the first step, you made the last knock
I know you’re afraid, I’ve seen this before
You run so often, from what you can’t ignore
This is my pledge for you understand and see
You may have run now, but the lesson is free
When you want something the most it may appear
Though that something can turn dark from being unclear
It’s happened before, and this time makes three
Your past catches up when you’re hiding from me
I know there’s a lot for one enjoy
The beauty of life in a city so poised
Why buy the cow when the milk is free
Is that why you run, and from what you can be
Lessons in life are learnt from ones pain
I’ve learnt this before, with nothing to gain
For this is my cry for each one to see
Why lie to those who helped and loved me
If this is the end I want you to know
You have a good heart but you've damaged my soul
You’ve felt this pain too, before you and I
Why revive this to split and make lies.
